#FINALLYBARNES Wedding

After 12 years, the long awaited day finally came! Stacy and Matt were married on April 3, 2016 at The Loft On Pine, in Long Beach, California. #FinallyBarnes was the perfect theme to capture the excitement and feelings of finally having their time to shine. They’ve waited so long for this day that they didn’t want to keep their style traditional or “normal”, and their wedding planner Green Apple Event Company certainly helped them create the most wonderful wedding they could imagine. The couple made sure to incorporate two things when planning their wedding: to represent themselves and their relationship.

Stacy and Matt’s theme was simple, classic, playful with a touch of rustic. They used a mix of ivories, greys and lush greens to complement perfectly with the market lit wood backdrop and stump lined aisle. Their florist, Lavender’s Flowers, arranged the perfect collection to meet Stacy’s color palette and filled the ceremony with ivory florals and luxurious greenery.

Stacy and Matt’s relationship was fun, creative, and full of surprises. They wanted their guests to have fun, and mingle easily, so why not start off their big day with the biggest surprise of all… the unveiling of a video of their actual first wedding… just 3 months prior, in Vegas! They just couldn’t wait to be husband and wife, and what better way to do it! They brought their entire wedding party to Vegas, married on Friday, January 15th and created a video to show on their “official” wedding day to start it off with a bang!

The fun didn’t stop there, bringing in cheers and amusement, during the ceremony they played BINGO, while their officiant worked in as many Friends references as he could… YES THE TV SHOW!

After the ceremony is where the real party began… but first, they had all of their pastor friends play Rock, Paper, Scissors for the honor of praying before their meals! They enjoyed a dinner served by Jay’s Catering, set on the couple’s own long reclaimed wood farm style tables for a casual and rustic dinner scene. The newlyweds chose a Taco Station, Mac and Cheese Station and Sliders Station for dinner. Their guests could pick and choose as they pleased, and the Mac and Cheese bar was a real treat with their deluxe toppings of applewood smoked bacon, sundried tomatoes, crunchy onions, sliced Italian sausage and sliced mushrooms.

To finish off their meals, Stacy and Matt chose one of Jay’s delicious Dessert Stations instead of a traditional wedding cake. The Dessert Station included a collection of French Macarons, Raspberry Chocolate Decadence, Cookies, Mini Cupcakes and Lemon Squares.

The traditional bouquet toss was also not so traditional, since Stacy included all of the ladies in the room instead of just single ladies. They ended the night with a dance party with their friends and family, complimented by music from VOX DJS.

Stacy’s favorite memory of the night was before walking down the aisle to her soon to be husband, standing upstairs and hearing the song start as her cue to walk down the aisle. Hearing those first notes of the song Marry Me, by Train, instantly filled her eyes with tears, as she walked down the stairs to meet Matt’s dad who walked her down the aisle. A memory to last a lifetime.
