It's National Whiskey Sour Day! To celebrate, we wanted to share one of our favorite recipes here at Rogue! It's the perfect medley of whiskey, sugar and citrus. Our Whiskey Sour calls for egg white, an ingredient that adds a light, frothy, textural element to the cocktail.
- 2 oz Bourbon (We love Woodford Reserve!)
- 3/4 oz Simple Syrup
- 3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 Egg White (optional)
First, combine the bourbon, simple syrup and lemon juice into your shaker filled with ice.
Shake until ingredients are mixed. Next, carefully crack an egg and separate the egg white into your shaker. (Mixing the bourbon, simple syrup and lemon juice first creates millions of tiny bubbles that will be encapsulated by the egg white making it delicious!)
Shake all ingredients together until the mixture is frothy.
Lastly, grab two glasses and fill them with fresh ice. Strain drink into glasses and enjoy!
