They say “you never get a second chance to make a first impression,” and for a brand, your logo is often that first impression. It’s your identity. It’s how you are recognized. It’s the first thing people see and should encompass everything that your company stands for. When you hear names like Nike, McDonald's, or Coca-Cola, the lasting image of their logos spring to mind as they are inextricably imprinted on our consciousness.
A great logo could mean the difference between a window shopper and an actual customer. It provides a way for you to express the entire ethos of your company in one easy-to-remember icon. It invites people into your story.
This is why our first step in looking at businesses we work with is taking a look at their logo. Does it stand out? Is it unique? Does it represent the business well? We believe in thoughtful designs that truly represent what the company’s message and personality is all about. If this is the first thing your customers see, then it MUST make an impression!
This is our process.
Step 1 | RESEARCH and understanding your brand
The most important aspect of our research is spending time getting to know our client. Who you are, what you do, your values and your personality ARE your brand! So we make sure that we fully understand YOU so we can craft a logo that truly represents YOUR brand! While we’re getting to know you, we also extensively research the competitors and customers in your space. What are your rivals doing? What’s the feel of the industry and of their customers? Do they use mostly type logos or images?
We want to create something unique, something that would stand out amongst the crowd. We want your branding to catch the eye of YOUR customers and immediately communicate who you are.
Step 2 | SKETCH and REFINE... and then sketch and refine again (and again!)
Now that we know everything about you, your competitors and your customers and know their likes and dislikes, we can START THE PROCESS! Our designers will reflect on the research, brainstorm and then come up with some brilliant sketches and ideas for your company. It usually takes many, many sketches, then making those sketches digital, choosing font pairings, color schemes, and layout variations to create different logo options. From there, our designer refines the top options and we collaborate as a team. Everyone chooses their favorites and gives constructive feedback so we can begin to hone in on a particular style. Then our designer creates a few more variations from those.

Step 3 | THE WINNER
Finally, we narrow down our options to the select few, revise and perfect the strongest logos. It’s only at this point that we present our chosen logo options to our client. We like to give a few examples of different styles… because options are nice! And, since we know that you may like one aspect of one and something from another, we’ll continue to work and iterate until the logo is perfected and is exactly what you are looking for!
